Position Summary Under supervision of the District Manager, installs, maintains, troubleshoots and upgrades computer hardware, software, and peripheral equipment. Associate performs general technical support functions, including assembly, configuration and maintenance of the electronics that are acquired by the program. Essential Duties (Other duties within the scope of this position may be assigned.) 1. Ensures that all donated electronics are processed in an efficient manner. 2. Installs, operating systems and software. 3. Assembles and configures computers, monitors, and peripherals such as printers, scanners and related hardware; pulls cables and rewires or directs the rewiring of cables as required for new installations. 4. Accurately conducts sales transactions and maintain cash and credit card control by following proper procedures regarding voids, refunds, checks, credit cards, etc. 5. Provides excellent customer service. 6. Troubleshoots problems with computer systems, including troubleshooting hardware and software, and peripheral equipment problems; makes repairs and corrections where required. 7. Performs electronic data destruction (wipe hard drive). 8. Acts as a technical resource with regard to problems with equipment and data; 9. Makes hardware and software acquisition recommendations including users assessment of needs and providing justification for equipment and services. 10. Assists with the planning, design, research and acquisition of new or upgraded hardware and software systems; maintains current knowledge of hardware, software and network technology and recommends modifications as necessary. 11. Trains diverse populations including but not limited to staff as well as program participants. 12. Monitors use of supplies and equipment; notifies supervisor with needs of the department in a timely manner. Supervisory Responsibilities The associate in this position does not have any supervisory responsibilities. Education/Experience/Certificates/Security Clearance High School Diploma or GED preferred. Experience representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. No professional certifications are required for this position. The associate is not required to drive as part of their job duties. Associates in this position will be required to successfully pass a criminal background check and sex offender check. Ability to operate PC, proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook. A+ Certification, preferred. Physical Demands/Work Environment/Work Conditions The associate is required to lift up to 50 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds. The associate works in a general office environment and is infrequently exposed to extreme atmospheric conditions (temperature, noise, fumes, dust, etc.).
