Operations Supervisor (Finance)
The Supvr - Operations manages all aspects of the assigned department, providing knowledge, equipment, and staffing to ensure that product of optimal quality is produced efficiently and in a timely manner. The Supvr - Operations position is 80% production work and 20% office work related.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manages daily operations of assigned department directly and or with Shop Manager.
• Uses appropriate techniques to reduce material, labor and overhead costs and constantly seeks to improve productivity through efficient utilization of all resources in department.
• Observes machines and equipment for malfunction and orders adjustments or repairs. Assists workers to make adjustments or repairs or contacts vendor if needed.
• Maintains good working conditions- a safe, clean work place and adequate facilities to help each employee do their job effectively.
• Establishes action plans for self and others to accomplish specific objectives; planning proper assignments of personnel and allocating the appropriate resources.
• Provides leadership guidance and encourages teamwork among supervisory personnel.
• Maintains time and production records.
• Provides operation and productivity reports for assigned Department.
• Ensures employees are trained and/or cross trained to meet objective production goals for the plant operations.
• Ensures that departmental procedures are followed, and accurate records maintained.
• Selects and develops capable and quality conscious work force.
• Expedites orders which are identified as priority orders by the customer service team in the office and production control in plant.
• Performs activities of workers supervised. Keeps abreast of technical changes and advances related to the assigned Department.
• Provides daily guidance, coordination, and discipline to all aspects of the assigned Department to meet objectives.
• Develops standards of performance and conducts annual reviews for all subordinates. Discusses performance problems with individuals requiring motivation or discipline.
• Reassigns personnel as workloads necessitate.
• Maintains prescribed records, makes reports, approves time sheets, and authorizes time adjustments.
• Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of employee(s) to ensure goals or objectives are accomplished. Mentors, coaches, trains and develops team.
• Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 6+ years previous operations and or production experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 3+ years in a leadership role (direct or indirect); Prior managerial/supervisory experience preferred
• Periodic travel may be required.
• High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
• Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)
• Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients
• Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
• Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
PHYSICAL ASPECTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk, hear and see.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold & heat, risk of electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
• The noise level in the work environment may be high.

COMPENSATION
The starting salary range for this position is between $68,000- $72,000
