Housing Advocacy Coordinator (Project Management)
Three Rivers Community Action, Inc. is a non-profit agency providing economic opportunities that strengthen individuals, families and communities in southeastern Minnesota. The Housing Advocacy Coordinators job responsibilities revolve around the primary goal of supporting staff who provide homeless assistance and prevention services to households in need. This position requires an empathetic approach to staff who are working with individuals and families facing crisis situations, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a detail-oriented work style, and a willingness to work with a diverse population.
As the Housing Advocacy Coordinator, you will maintain and administer a training program for all housing programs; conduct monthly coaching meetings; support departmental staff with case consultation, decision-making, conflict resolution and grant-related questions; approve direct payment requests and oversee direct assistance spending. Provide technical assistance for databases such as HMIS and Laserfiche; conduct file review and organization. Process program participant requests for assistance, provide support to participants in person or via phone/email/mail, and apply critical-thinking and multi-tasking skills.
This full-time position will be based in Rochester. Occasional travel using a personal vehicle is required; mileage reimbursement is based on the IRS mileage rate.
Job offers are contingent on a reference check, as well as a Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) Background Study and fingerprinting.
Qualifications:
BA or BS requiredLicensed Social Worker and/or Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor (preferred)1-3 years of experience working with vulnerable populations1-3 years of participant advocacy experience1-3 years of supervisory experienceComputer and data entry proficiencyAbility to maintain confidentiality and follow data privacy policies and proceduresThis primarily office-based position requires lifting 20 pounds occasionally; communicating verbally in person and by phone; and seeing documents and computer screensAbility to travel using personal vehicle to meet with clients
