We are seeking a qualified Yard Supervisor for our Clanton, AL Operations. This role works with the Plant Manager, Production Manager and other Supervisors to provide assistance, coordinate production activities, and general supervision of the facility.
Principle Responsibilities:
Supervise Production Operations in the Tie Yard
Supervises placement of inventory on the yard to include quality, appearance, identification, and accuracy
Works closely with Production Manager and schedule personnel and cation
Oversees training/cross-training of employees
Works closely with Production Manager to schedule treating as needed for order backlog
Schedules uninspected material through stations to ensure payable schedule is maintained
Learns Production Manager role in operations to serve as a back-up when necessary
Enforces safety rules, conducts job-observation, and serves as LAI and PAI
Gives direction to maintenance personnel as needed
Provides information to the Production Manager and Plant Manager as needed
Maintains time and production records
Participates and contributes to company safety program
Performs other related duties as assigned
Management duties include supervision of exempt and/or non-exempt staff. This includes but is not limited to, conducting performance evaluations and improvement plans, approving paid time-off (PTO), assigning or delegating work, providing on-the-job training, giving guidance to staff, taking disciplinary action, and interviewing candidates for open positions.

Qualifications:
Education: Associate degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental, Forestry or related field is preferred; and or three years supervisory experience as well as three years of production experience is required
Experience: 3 years' supervisory experience required, supervisory experience in wood products and other manufacturing environments, general experience in manufacturing, quality control, safety and production processes is highly preferred

Proficient with inventory management systems

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
