- Bachelor's Degree food science or related field
- 8+ years of experience of food safety in retail, distribution, and/or manufacture of food products
- Effective oral/written communication skills
- Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail
- Advanced Microsoft office skills
- Strong facilitation and training skills
Desired
- FDA Preventive Controls Training (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual)
- Any knowledge/ experience in Pest Control and Elimination in Food Manufacturing and/or Distribution Centers- Review and implement food safety policies and procedures that meet regulatory requirements and conform with industry best practices for food safety, quality, and sanitation to ensure receipt, storage, and distribution of safe quality foods
- Provide guidance to distribution/fulfillment center personnel regarding food safety, sanitation, and pest control performance as measured by food safety metrics
- Support distribution/fulfillment center personnel in developing, maintaining, and improving applicable Seafood HACCP and FSMA mandated food safety plans
- Review and implement strategies to ensure cold chain integrity to include compliance with the Kroger Cold Chain Toolkit and related policies
- Lead continuous improvement projects that will improve the overall food safety/sanitation performance of distribution and fulfillment centers
- Develop and implement Food Safety and Quality training materials for Supply Chain personnel
- Ensure food safety audits are being conducted at Kroger and third party operated distribution/fulfillment centers, perform detailed review of audit results, and work with facility personnel to develop corrective action
- Develop working relationships with FDA, USDA, and state and local governmental agencies, industry and academia to keep abreast of regulatory and technological changes that may affect the food industry
- Champion and support Food Safety Culture within the Kroger Supply Chain Network
