Forest Operations Technician I (R&D)
What the job is: As a Forest Operations Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and sustainability of our forest roads. You will conduct field inventories, assess road conditions, and develop treatment plans to minimize environmental impacts. Your work will directly contribute to the conservation efforts of aquatic habitats and the overall health of our forests. The work this position conducts is in conjunction with Green Diamonds Aquatic Habitat Conservation Plan.
Listed are examples of the work this role performs:
Conduct field inventories of stream crossings and other road related features. Assess relative sediment delivery potential from forest roads and associated structures. Develop appropriate treatment prescriptions for road upgrading, decommissioning, and maintenance activities. Analyze topographic maps, LiDAR imagery, and aerial photographs to effectively navigate forest landscapes. Maintain accurate and legible field notes. Enter field data into mobile devices, spreadsheets and databases. Active participant in the companys safety program. Ensure the proper care and maintenance of equipment. Assist in other aquatic monitoring programs and department tasks as needed.

Where youll work: You will work on nearly 400,0000 acres of Green Diamonds privately held forest property, located along the Northern California coast in Humboldt, Del Norte, and Mendocino counties. Our offices are nestled in the redwood forest near the Pacific Ocean.
Compensation Details: The wage for this position is $23.00 to $28.97 per hour based on your experience and demonstrated skill level. This job is also part of a progression ladder to grow your career. The wage is just one part of Green Diamonds total compensation package. Other rewards include eligibility to receive an annual company financial bonus and a bonus based on your own performance.
In addition, Green Diamond offers a generous benefit package to include medical/vision and dental, life and disability insurance, 401(k) plan with match and profit sharing.
