Registered Dental Assistant (Manufacturing)

The Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) are responsible for helping providers in delivering care to the patients. Essential functions include preparing operatory, chair side assistance, sterilization, educating patients, maintaining inventory, assisting with documentation, helping with lab cases, maintaining dental equipment.
Essential Functions, Duties, andResponsibilities
Prepare operatory for patients.Bring and seat patient in operatory.Explain the procedure to be performed. Get consents and other relevant documents signed by the patient and save it to patients record.Take or update vitalsas directed by the provider.Take X rays as directed by the provider.Help provider with documentation of diagnosis and treatment.Perform chair side assistance.Perform independent procedures as directed by provider in accordance with current certifications, laws, and regulations.Give oral hygiene instructions or post op instructions.Verify that all required documents are signed and saved properly in patient record.Help with referrals.Walk patient to front office for billing and help with future appointments.Clean the operatory.Sterilize instruments.Check and maintain operatory supplies.Restock operatories.Order supplies and check inventory.Dispose materials properly in accordance with the laws and regulations.Maintain dental equipment according to manufacturers directions. Call for repairs and scheduled maintenance.Prepare and send cases to the dental lab.Maintain list of Dental lab cases. Contact lab if needed. Assist other team members as needed.Other duties and projects as assigned.
Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Education-
High school Diploma or GED. Completion of accredited course in Dental Assisting RDA certification Coronal polishing and sealant certificate California radiation safety certificate BLS (CPR) certificate
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities -
Computer literacy to use clinical software and Microsoft windows. Posses comprehensive knowledge of primary dental care. Excellent communication skills for enhanced patient experience. Ability to work with team to help providing care to patients. Knowledgeable regarding infection control procedures and policies. Knowledgeable about universal precautions and proper use of personal protective equipment.
