Assistant General Manager - Membership & Fitness (Education)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Must be able to clearly communicate expectations of fellow team members and hold the team responsible for goal achievementsMust be detail-oriented and have outstanding organizational skillsAble to maintain focus in a high-volume, fast-paced environmentKnowledge of the rules and regulations of JRSSC, including its Personnel Handbook, and abide by themAct as the key point person for new membership salesResponsible for managing the membership sales processDevelop, implement and monitor membership sales business planRecruit new members and create partnerships with local community businessesPropose, develop and market membership pricing levelsPresent approved membership options and prices to prospective membersEnsure that all telephone and email membership inquiries, booking and maintaining appointments for prospective members to tour the club are responded toEnsure prospective members get an enthusiastic and informative tourAchieve financial objectives by preparing budgets, analyzing and responding on variances and initiating corrective actionsTrack, prepare and report on daily membership sales and monthly end numbersResponsible for member retentionEnsure accuracy with billing, downgrades, freezes, and terminationsWork together with all departments as a teamManage Front Desk operations ensuring a high level of professionalism and friendlinessAssist with facility budget and monitor departmental financial spending, specifically but not limited to Membership and FitnessHold Periodic All-Staff MeetingsEvaluate and supervise staffResolves member/guest grievancesCommunicates unsettled complaints to General ManagerEnsures compliance of employees with established standards, standard operating procedures and cultureAnalyze facility needs and resourcesPlans, develops and implements JRSSC policies and proceduresEvaluate, develop, execute the strategic plan for Membership and Fitness departmentsRepresent the JRSSC as needed at expos, health fairs, community events, and community meetingsAssist in overall budgeting and strategic planning for the JRSSCKnowledge of & respect for Jeff Rouse Swim and Sport Center MissionKnowledge of the rules and regulations of JRSSC, including its Personnel Handbook, and abide by themManage several staff within the facilityAssist in the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these staff membersCarries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable lawsResponsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problemsPerform other duties and responsibilities as needed, required, or assigned by the General Manager
