ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
Parking & Transportation Services, a division of the University of South Florida's Administrative Services department is responsible for the overall management of the Bull Runner Transit System and parking facilities and services. We are committed to providing guidance and assistance to the USF community and our guests with all their parking and transportation needs in a professional and courteous manner.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Customer Service Representative serves as the primary point of contact for parking-related inquiries from customers via in-person interactions, phone calls, and email correspondence. These inquiries typically involve topics such as parking permits, rules and regulations, citations, payments, and appeals. The Customer Service Representative is a vital liaison between the Parking and Transportation Services department and its diverse customer base, addressing and resolving parking-related inquiries and issues.
The role primarily involves working in the customer service lobby, phone room, and customer service work area, as well as the Campus Information Center (CIC). Additionally, representatives may serve as ambassadors for the department, providing pertinent parking information and customer support at events such as student orientations and new hire orientations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Respond to customer inquiries related to parking, citations, parking rules, payment, and appeals via in-person interactions, phone, or email. Provide customers with parking information, such as available parking facilities, types of parking permits, and directions. Explain the citation appeal process to customers.
Update customer account information in the T2 Flex parking system. Remove and place transcript holds on student accounts on a daily basis in OASIS. Update parking accounts with DMV records.
Research and help resolve complex customer inquiries and disputes in a professional manner using multiple systems, including GEMS, Oasis, and T2 Flex.
Process permits sales and returns, citation payments, and permit exchanges.
Perform other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
This position requires a high school diploma or successful completion of a GED equivalency test. At least six months of work experience in a customer service position handling and processing payments is required.
PREFERRED:
One year of customer service experience in a higher education or transportation environment. Familiar with USF Tampa campus buildings and parking facilities. Experience using Banner/Oasis, GEMS, and Flex parking systems. Experience with MS Office Suite. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to manage challenging customer interactions effectively.
SPECIAL SKILLS/TRAINING:
Customer service experience. Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, T2 Flex, Banner/Oasis and GEMS. This position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with the ability to handle tasks such as sitting, standing, data entry, and filing.
