POSITION SUMMARY
The Quote Specialist is responsible for preparing accurate, timely, and competitive quotes for prospective and existing customers. This includes collaborating closely with Sales, Operations, and other departments within the organization to ensure all quotes are aligned with the company pricing strategies. The ideal candidate has a results-orientated mindset, possess strong communication skills, is detailed oriented, has experience using ERP and MRP systems to locate customer information, and a proven track record in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/ DUTIES
• Prepare quote proposals, including review of specifications, purchase orders, Terms & Conditions, estimating cost of machined parts, fabricated parts and assemblies
• Getting an estimated cost of outside processes and materials
• Putting together a bid package
• Willingness to work overtime, holidays, weekends as required
• Other duties as assigned
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Job Skill Requirements
• MRP and ERP system knowledge
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to understand the manufacturing process
• Must be comfortable manipulating spreadsheets
• Reading prints and drawings
• Performing basic cost benefit analysis
• Ability to interpret complex part drawings.
• Material knowledge
• Good communication skills. Must be able to interact with customer and intercompany engineering, manufacturing personnel, sales and outside vendors.
• Computer literate, including accessing the web
• Must be detail oriented with excellent organization skills
Education
• High school or equivalent; associates degree or higher a plus but not required.
Experience
• Prior machine shop estimating experience or minimum of 5 years machining experience
