Position Summary The Accounting Supervisor plays a critical role in supporting the Kendallville Finance Team by overseeing and managing daily accounting operations. This position entails on-site supervision of a team of two employees, ensuring they effectively execute general accounting functions while maintaining accuracy and strong internal controls. Key responsibilities include reviewing vouchers, accounting documents, and records submitted by staff to ensure compliance and precision. Additionally, the Accounting Supervisor is tasked with continuously evaluating accounting processes and system efficiencies, recommending improvements and implementing best practices to optimize the accounting workflow. Responsibilities Work is typically performed under no supervision, with only guidance about overall goals and objectives. Usually receive minimal to no guidance about how to complete work objectives. Must be able to define work based on evaluation of short-term and long-term goals of the department. Able to independently evaluate processes, identify areas of improvement, and incorporate into overall work objectives.
Lead and manage direct reports in accounting and purchasing functions.
Gather, analyze, and prepare supporting documentation for operating forecasts.
Prepare financial reports, produce activity statements, and monitor accounts.
Provide financial information and insights as needed.
Manage company spending and forecasting processes.
Prepare and analyze various accounting statements and reports.
Analyze financial reports and make recommendations regarding expenditures and revenues.
Identify and analyze opportunities for cost reduction and process efficiency and improvement.
Coordinate accounting matters with other departments, locations, and plants.
Conduct in-depth, moderately complex technical analysis to assess current financial performance

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent, OR demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of work experience
5+ years of accounting principles experience, including understanding relevant regulations, preferably in a manufacturing environment
2+ years of supervisory experience, preferred
Ability to manage, motivate, and drive team effectiveness independently
Strong problem-solving skills, capable of analyzing moderately complex technical problems to assess current financial performance
Ability to recognize anomalies and critical situations, and respond appropriately
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of accounting systems and financial reporting applications, including proficiency in Excel, with Essbase and SAP experience preferred.
Proven experience and comfort working with various levels of management and/or teams and providing efficient and effective support and solutions
Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to explain departmental policy, methods, and/or procedures
