PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The primary function of this position is to troubleshoot, re-build, repair, & test components at an expert as well as lead and coach other technicians.

Education :
Must have a high school education or GED.
Work Experience :
Six years of Cat experience. Fully understands all equipment systems (i.e. engines, hydraulics, electrical, sub-electrical, transmissions, etc.) for almost all equipment model lines.
Physical :
Must be able to daily and repeatedly stoop, kneel, bend and climb besides, onto and underneath various equipment to perform diagnosis and repairs; Must be able to effectively see to perform repairs, research technical manuals, and develop written repair work order reports. Must be able to routinely and physically lift/position various parts to perform repairs/service and manually handle parts up to 100 pounds, as well as use mechanical hoist for heavier parts.
Other :
Must be able to effectively write repair activities on customer work orders; Must have cognitive reasoning and problem-solving skills to apply knowledge, written information and verbal instructions in repairing/servicing unusual and/or unknown technical equipment operational problems. Should have exposure to P.C. base equipment and parts information; Can work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to effectively communicate with others; provides training of other technicians, assigns work assignments, and promotes good customer service and resolves their problems.
This is a 4 day, 10 hour schedule - MUST be able to work overtime when necessary.

initStaticMap(true); PRIMARY FUNCTION:\n \nThe primary function of this position is to troubleshoot, re-build, repair, & test components at an expert as well as lead and coach other technicians.\n \nESSENTIAL DUTIES:\n\nCheck the equipment and supplies required to perform the work scheduled, comply with PPE requirements, and otherwise prepare for duties.\nUses manuals, repair manuals, parts manuals, parts diagrams to perform independent troubleshooting and repair of components (engines, transmission, torque converters, fuel systems).\nUses lift trucks, overhead cranes, & other aides to lift or move parts into position to be repaired.\nUses hand & power tools to remove, install, replace, re-build, repair, & components.\nBe proficient at using resources and computers to reference parts, get information about parts & enter data into record systems.\nUses tools to disassemble/re assemble components; cleans parts with rags, cleaners, power washer; uses test equipment to make diagnostic checks; and controls powered equipment or tools to make repairs.\nProficient at performing transmission bench testing and engine DYNO testing. \n\n \nLEADERSHIP DUTIES:\n\nAssists supervisor with performance appraisals. \nCoach, guide and develop technicians.\nDirect day to day job assignments and responsibilities for up to five or more technicians in squad.\nWork with squad members to ensure proper processes and procedures are used to ensure that the product we turn out is a true representation of the customers' and GPEC expectations.\n\n \nMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:\nEducation:\nMust have a high school education or GED.\n \nWork Experience:\nSix years of Cat experience.
