Research Technician II - School of Public Health (Finance)
We are seeking a Full-Time Research Technician II to join the UTHealth School of Public Health in Houston, TX. In this position, you will provide technical assistance in carrying out assigned duties of research projects.

Provides technical assistance in carrying out assigned duties of research projects.
Position Key Accountabilities:
1. Collect and process environmental samples on a weekly basis, and perform biological and chemical analyses.
2. Develop and validate molecular assays for diagnostics and quantification.
3. Prepare libraries for next-generation sequencing and assist with sequencing data analysis.
4. Regularly report research progress and findings to the Principal Investigator.
5. Work closely with the PI to analyze experimental data and test research questions.
6. Lead manuscript preparation and research publications.
7. Maintains accurate and detailed experimental records, ensures a clean, organized laboratory environment, and follow biosafety procedures.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.
Certification/Skills:
None.
Minimum Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum Experience:
Two years of research laboratory experience.
May substitute required experience with equivalent years of education beyond the minimum education requirement.
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
This position may include work involving potentially hazardous chemical, biological or radioactive agents.

Residency Requirement:
