Senior Grant and Support Services Accountant (Project Management)
Assist with the management of all grants. Prepare draws, including supporting documentation. Ensure all supporting documentation is maintained for the grant, including draw approvals from CFO/Controller, to comply with federal regulations.
Assist with preparing various reports for internal and external users.
Timely preparation and review of grant billing invoices or financial reports for multiple grant funded programs. Review account balances and support program directors with grant monitoring and compliance. Assist with the management, invoicing, and tracking of all state, federal, local, and foundation grants.
Assist with the external audit.
Prepare trial balance account reviews, account reconciliations, and report on findings to the Controller. Investigate and propose adjustments to budgets and billings.
Review program budgets and report on spending trends, opportunities for cost savings, strategic sourcing and related financial management improvements.
Prepare deposits, scan into bank, and provide supporting documentation to the staff accountant for recording in the general ledger.
Close revenue subsystems for all support services, research and foundation monthly: Includes running reports and preparing journal entries to record the revenue in the general ledger system; reconcile accounts as assigned on a monthly basis; assist with reviewing and posting Accounts Payable batches; perform ad hoc analysis as needed. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, REGISTRATION:
Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting or Finance
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
5 years of accounting with grant experience, required
2 years public accounting experience, preferred
Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Not-for profit and health industry experience a plus.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience working with complex spreadsheets and pivot tables.
Strong analytical and accounting skills.
Ability to meet assigned deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction.
Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Must interact and communicate both verbally and in written form.
Must interact and exchange information regarding patients with physicians and other departmental personnel, and outside agencies on a frequent basis while respecting the confidentiality of patient information.
