Primary Operational Objective
The primary function of the Safety Assistant is to assist the safety manager on a daily basis.
Duties and Responsibilities
Help maintain Safety Data Sheets
Assist with and/or conduct safety meetings, trainings, and toolbox talks
Assist with Job Hazard Analysis
Assist with Federal Motor Carier Safety Administration / Department Of Transportation compliance
Help with accident/incident investigations
Accompany employees to medical facilities when required
Conduct drug tests if required
Help with the creation of safety policies and procedures
Complete daily/weekly jobsite audits
Fire extinguisher inspections
Assist with gate checks
Maintain positive relationships with industry partners and vendors
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Fast-paced work site and office environment
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
