Tool & Die Machinist (Manufacturing)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct self at all times to APT policies and procedures under the current revision. This role reports to the Tool Room Supervisor Support making tooling and fixture need requests from Production, Engineering, Sales, Maintenance, and Machining areas. Apply general basic machining skills through the use of fundamental shop equipment, materials. General working knowledge of speeds and feeds of materials. General materials knowledge for assisting in prescribing/applying the proper materials for the desired application. Ability to use a wide variety of gauges, comparator, and general shop practices to accomplish desired results. Solid Blueprint reading skills. Ability to convert verbal rough ideas and sketches into desired final product. Support production work on and processes that require basic machining processes. Flexible to support CNC production machining on an as-needed basis. Make suggestions for improvements of applications, fixtures, etc. Be a resource for those who may need to run the basic equipment to assure proper operation, safety, and general use.
