Sr. Director Food Safety, Quality, and Regulatory (Biotech)
Provide strategic leadership, structure and resource allocation across all aspects of FSQR, people, process, policy and procedures.
Actively lead the implementation of change management and maintenance of food safety and quality systems in alignment with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Engineering, and R&D, to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Drive change, communication, and education across the enterprise within the FSQR space.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including but not limited to 21 CFR 101 (Food Labeling), 21 CFR 110 (cGMPs), 21 CFR 113 (Low Acid Canned Food - Retort and Aseptic), Grade A Pasteurized Milk Ordinance (PMO), and USDA National Organic Program (NOP).
Actively participate in industry best practices, regulatory requirements and ensure the company's policies and procedures reflect these updates.
Quality Assurance:
Develop, implement, and monitor quality control processes and procedures to ensure the production of safe and high-quality food products.
Manage the internal and external FSQR related audit program and ensure corrective actions are implemented for any non-conformities.
Oversee product testing and validation processes, including microbiological testing, to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Continuous Improvement:
Work across all departments to identify opportunities for process improvements in food safety and quality.
Lead initiatives to improve product quality, reduce waste, and enhance operational efficiency.
Training and Development:
Provide training and guidance to FSQ team members on food safety regulations, quality standards, and best practices.
Ensure that all personnel involved in food safety and quality are adequately trained and certified, including PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) training.
Qualifications:
PCQI certification is required.
Bachelor's degree in food science, Microbiology, or a related field. Master's or greater preferred.
Minimum of 15 years of direct food manufacturing experience with at least 5 years in retort/aseptic/Extended Shelf Life (ESL) processing.
Experience in microbiology and Low Acid Canned Food (LACF) processes is required.
Experience in reporting to senior leadership.
Experience in managing external executive peers.
Strong understanding of food safety regulations and quality assurance practices.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams both internal and external.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Location and Pay:
We offer a competitive base pay rate and comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees. This position will primarily work out of our Neenah, WI facility, but will also travel to our Little Chute, WI location as business needs require.
Physical and Mental Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, hear, use hands to type data, use a personal computer and telephone. This employee may occasionally have to operate business machines and lift and/move up to 50 pounds.
