Assists in conducting and coordinating the development of the residential assessment process, in accordance with requirements of current rules, state and federal regulations, organizational standards and guidelines that governs the resident assessment. Provides periodical education and training to the community on the Resident Assessment Instruction (RAI) process in accordance with all laws, regulations, and standards. Reviews and coordinates the utilization of the Prospective Payment System (PPS).Completes the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (OBRA) and Prospective Payment System (PPS) assessment schedules based on the current RAI, State, and Federal Regulations. Assists with the scheduling of assessments.Assists in the completion of the Resident Assessment Instrument (Minimum Data Set), including the Care Area Assessment Process (CAAs).Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the comprehensive care plan.Coordinates the review and revision of the residents care plan by the interdisciplinary team during the quality of care meeting, on a quarterly basis, as significant changes occur, and as needed.Participates in the management of the current Resource Utilization Group (RUG) governed by the organizational systematic approach.Coordinates resident transitions to different care levels.Assists in the recruitment, selection and training of RAI Coordinators.Establishes qualification of RAI process for the interdisciplinary team, communicates with regional support in regard to compliance with organizational standards, initiates educational programs, and implements systematic approaches to facilitate policies and procedures.Establishes and evaluates the RAI process for accuracy and timeliness.Manages MDS data to be transmitted to the CMS Quality Improvement and Evaluation System (QIES) Assessment Submission and Processing (ASAP) system per the RAI guidelines.Confers with interdisciplinary team about the identified needs of resident care.Obtains the quality measures to assist the interdisciplinary team in reviewing and reporting the MDS accuracy and analytical trends.Participates in the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement Meeting.Completes medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, and other duties, as necessary.Participates in community surveys/inspections made by authorized government agencies.Participates in additional developmental reviews of Managed or Medicare residents.Agrees not to disclose resident health information and promptly reports suspected or known violations to the Administrator.This job description represents an overview of the responsibilities for the above referenced position.
