JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
A CDL delivery driver is responsible for driving a delivery truck, picking up new products, following predetermined delivery routes, and delivering those products in a safe and timely manner to the proper place.
· Safely operate the truck and adhere to all traffic laws and regulations
· Transport company goods and cargo from one location to another in a timely and efficient manner
· Perform routine inspections of the truck, including checking tires, brakes, lights, and fluid levels
· Complete all necessary paperwork, delivery logs, and inspection reports
· Maintain effective communication with dispatchers, customers, and fellow drivers
· Safely load, secure, and unload cargo according to industry standards
· Ensure that the weight distribution is balanced, use proper equipment and techniques, and protect the cargo from damage during transit
· Maintain accurate records of driving hours, mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents or accidents
· Adhere to electronic logging device (ELD) requirements and ensure compliance with regulatory reporting
· Uphold a professional and positive image as a representative of the company
· Coordinating with drivers and other personnel to schedule the pickup and delivery of goods
· Communicating with other drivers, logistics dispatchers and coordinators to provide them with updates, instructions, or help as needed
· Resolving issues that arise during trips, such as delays, accidents, or equipment problems
