ABOUT THE JOB:
Under ongoing supervision, forklift operators safely operate and manage industrial vehicles to load, unload and move materials within the facility.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
FORKLIFT OPERATOR I – this level of Operator is responsible for operating industrial vehicles to load, unload and move materials within the facility requiring little or no experience. Individuals in this position work with and around, and operate, large industrial equipment. Work normally is performed under close supervision; however, close supervision is not always available for routine and repetitive tasks, which can be carried on without difficulty once they are learned. As work experience is gained, employee may be assigned to tasks that are more difficult in nature and require more responsibility.
FORKLIFT OPERATOR II – this level of Operator is responsible for performing duties described for a Forklift Operator I. The qualifications and experience of this level of operator must be at an intermediate level. Work normally is performed under limited to close supervision. As additional work experience is gained, the employee may be assigned to tasks that are more difficult in nature and require more responsibility.
FORKLIFT OPERATOR III – this level of Operator is responsible for performing duties described for a Forklift Operator II. This level of operator requires advanced training, qualifications and experience. Work normally is performed under minimal supervision. Employees in this position may be responsible for providing on-the-job training to new employees.
