Sr. Electrical Design Engineer (Finance)
Position Description:
Sr. Electrical Design Engineer for Covidien LP (a Medtronic company) located in North Haven, CT. Support new product development and sustaining development activities for electrical components, equipment, and systems part of the Surgical Robotics Platform. Deliver product and process cost reductions resulting from design to implementation while adhering to policies. Execute mechanical and electrical V&V testing to evaluate an electro-mechanical system while operating standard test equipment. Provide guidance and implement strategies that improves product capabilities, performance and continuous improvement for new medical device products in development. Contribute to the successful completion of Engineering testing initiatives by supporting electrical specifications and protocol development, statistical analysis, execution, and reporting. Contribute to New Product Development through research and creation of electrical circuit analysis, formal PCB Assembly (PCBA) documentation to include schematics, PCB fabrication drawings and PCB assembly drawings. Navigate the complexity of regulatory agencies and certification bodies like FDA QSR, Good Manufacturing and Documentation Practices, RoHS compliance, and REACH compliance. Responsible for developing test fixtures for testing subsystems. Responsible for ensuring products are tested for EMC/ESD limits to comply with IEC 60601. Coordinate root cause investigations and documents findings. Leverage Design, Reliability & Manufacturability (DRM) principles and practices.
Relocation assistance is not available for this position. If selected, candidate will be responsible for relocating at their own expense to report to the worksite.
Basic Qualifications:
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field and two (2) years of experience as an electrical engineer for medical device products. Experience must include a minimum of two (2) years of each of the following: FDA QSR, IEC 60601, Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Documentation Practices, RoHS and REACH compliance; root cause investigations and documentation; electrical specification and protocol development, execution, and reporting; Electrical Circuit Analysis, Schematics and PCB Drawings; EMC and ESD Pre-Verification Evaluation; Test Fixture development; and Design, Reliability & Manufacturability (DRM) principles and practices. Relocation assistance is not available for this position. If selected, candidate will be responsible for relocating at their own expense to report to the worksite.
Salary: $99,000 to $152,400/year
