Freelance Senior Social Copywriter (Finance)

We are seeking an experienced Freelance Senior Social Copywriter to support our team 16-20 hours/week during Assembly's working hours (9-5ish, local time). Focusing on agile and always-on content, this role will bring the culture, trends, and expressions of social into the language of technology. Tech writing experience and an interest in AI, software and cloud services are a must. This is a client- facing, energetic, and highly collaborative role for daily content production.

The job

As a Social Copywriter, you will be responsible for bringing Microsoft's product(s) voice to life on social-everything from share-worthy Threads updates to on-asset TikTok copy and community engagement comments that bring Microsoft into more FYPs. You will use your creative writing, understanding of social and passion for technology together to make our clients stand out from the crowd. Organization, presentation, and tracking your work will be key elements to daily content production for one of the world's largest technology brands.

You love to take smart, calculated risks, proposing bold copy and storytelling that moves the needle. You are highly-collaborative and love to take initiative; you have experience partnering directly with clients each day, along with a core team of a social content creator and trend-miner-to bring brand-enhancing work to market, across all social channels. You possess a working knowledge and a passion for technology, especially AI. You are highly organized across a volume of social content needs, and you love social media; you're that Chronically Online friend™️, your FYP is filled with fire trends and you've always got the group chat laughing.

*Assembly occasionally converts freelancers to full-time-employees to support this growing business. Please note that potential for conversion is limited to candidates willing to work a hybrid schedule at an Edelman office.

Responsibilities

• Create social copy and content both individually and in partnership with other creative team members from brief to final execution.
• Be a copy leader on setting tone and technique across several brands in a global social media ecosystem.
• Craft share-worthy (and award-worthy) copy for TikTok, Threads, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube and X, as well as emerging channels
• Contributes to ideas and drafts in-asset overlays
• Partner directly with clients on social marketing teams daily
• Collaborate with a wide range of specialties including account, strategy, project management, and creators/influencers
• Maintain high levels of organization and clear communication across the team and clients to produce content efficiently.

Basic Qualifications:

• 6+ years with a copy background in advertising, or conceptual field, including creative and social media writing
• A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficient in Microsoft applications, specifically Microsoft 365 apps
• Technology & B2B creative experience a huge asset
• A working knowledge and passion for technology, especially AI
• Experience in organic social communities, with a deep familiarity with social platforms and formats

$70 - $95 an hour

An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of DJEH's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, a Paid Time Off policy, and region-specific benefits.
