Dispatcher (Administrative)
Alaska West Express, Inc. (Lynden Oilfield Services), Alaska's largest intermodal tank and chassis operator, is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our team in Prudhoe Bay, AK.
Lynden Oil Field Services, a division of Alaska West Express, Inc., provides support for exploration, production, and service companies on the North Slope working to develop Alaska's oil and gas resources. Our team works a two weeks on / two weeks off shift. We offer low-cost benefits including medical, dental, vision and 401k, in addition to a defined contribution retirement plan. This position directs and coordinates service center activities in local area, including the pick-up and delivery and line haul, related paperwork, communications, safety and hazardous materials handling compliance, and customer service activities.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position requires strong supervisory skills and responsibilities. There may be as many as 20 non-supervisory employees who report directly to this position. This position requires strong working relationship with all department supervisory personnel. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with co-workers, supervisors, and managers, to understand procedures and warning signs and or markings in the English language, to respond to inquiries, and to make entries on reports and records.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as shipping regulations, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
High skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to work independently, handle a variety of tasks at one time and work weekends. Extreme working knowledge of regulatory requirements. Computer skills include Word, Excel, Power Point and Access.

REQUIRED PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE):
Employee is required to wear PPE as outlined in AWE Industrial Health and Safety Manual Chapter 2.27 PPE Program, which may include hard hat, safety toe shoes/boots, gloves, chemical splash suits, safety glasses/goggles, hearing protection, respiratory protection, and arctic gear.
