TransCore (TCI), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a skilled Technician III to join our team in the Miramar, FL location.
Job Summary: This position performs field on-site servicing, repair, troubleshooting and/or installation of ITS devices / components. This job may include any aspect of field support and installation, and is not limited to electrical, data, and fiber optic cable installation; conduit and pull box installation or as required. This position will also require the Technician to have a high school diploma or GED, supplemented by vocational/technical training which includes an electrical apprenticeship; supplemented by previous ITS experience and/or training as a journeyman electrician or electrical inspector; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Work independently with minimum supervision.
Complete reports, logs and performs shift-to-shift communications in accordance with established policies, procedures and local practice.
Installs ITS equipment including but not limited to cameras, detectors, controller cabinets.
Installing and maintaining the ASCT System.
Knowledge of ITS System through the SunGuide System.
ITSFM maintainer abilities.
Familiar with fiber optics installation procedures, splicing testing and installation Installs electrical conductor, data conductor, and fiber optic cable.
Installs pull boxes, conduit, and any required underground infrastructure.
Connects conductors to equipment to make equipment work correctly.
Connects electrical conductors to power services to energize equipment Tests devices to ensure they work correctly.
Prepares logs to keep track of field conditions and installation activities.
Respond to corrective maintenance requests or alarms within an acceptable time frame.
Diagnose and repair hardware, software, and system issues.
Report technical status of system with accuracy and completeness.
Restore equipment to operational status as quickly as possible.
Isolate faults to boar, module, or component level.
Field test of units and/or components.
Familiar with traffic signal systems including device replacement and troubleshooting.
Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Required qualifications and experience:
Currently have and successfully maintain an active, valid driver's license.
To reside in the location for the assigned area to comply with contract response time requirements.
Current contract response time requirements for all call outs including emergency and/or critical repairs are 2 hours.
The position requires alternating weekends, evening on-call status and paid standby time.
Advance Network understanding.
Traffic Signal troubleshooting and replacement of major components.
Ramp Metering and Warning Gates understanding.
Desired qualifications and Experience:
Strong background in ITS Troubleshooting.
Understanding of Wisetrack software field inventory system.
Ability act as a lead in field task and provide update to management.
