Computer Systems Tech -Sewer (Construction)
POSITION SUMMARY
Under general supervision using ArcGIS software and appropriate hardware, performs complex GIS activities including analyzing GIS data and consulting with the various departments to assure GIS activities are efficient and coordinated. Develops complex and more intricate application programs relating to utilization of GIS data; and produces computer cartographic products.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Collects, creates, edits, operates, maintains, analyzes, updates, plots and distributes GIS data. Generates data and mapping as requested by Sewer Department Staff or other city offices.
Analyze GIS data and make strategic recommendations;
Convert, develop, maintain, update and create metadata for GIS databases and produce high quality maps for print and online display purposes;
Conduct research and collect data using GPS equipment, verifying data and editing attributes in the field;
Troubleshoot network/computer problems and configure printers and other equipment in the office;
Provide maintenance and support for GIS servers;
Design, develop and implement systems to meet end users needs;
Oversee operations of the wastewater treatment plants security cameras, front gate and main building security systems;
Use Lucity, POSM, SCADA, Velocity, AppAssure, Freeance, PortALogic, Telog, WIMS, and SIMMS software or ability to learn;
Responsible for all IT functions within the Sewer Department and coordinate those activities with the Citys IT Department;
Other duties as assigned.
