Azure Data Engineer (Information Technology)

We are seeking experienced Azure Data Engineers to help modernize and enhance an existing enterprise system that connects healthcare providers directly with millions of US veterans seeking clinical care. From sharing your skills in analytical exploration and examination of data to supporting the assessment, design, building, and maintenance of scalable platforms – you'll work with our clients to solve their most pressing challenges.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Configure and run raw data ingestions into parquet file formats in an Azure Data and Delta Lake.
· Utilize Microsoft Synapse, Databricks and other ETL tools to process parquet files.
· Develop, implement, and support the usage of data visualization toolkits.
· Develop innovative solutions to complex problems.
· Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data in our cloud environment.
· Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools.
· Ability to ask probing questions and identify edge cases during discussions.
· Proactive problem-solving mindset to remove blockers and address technical challenges.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
· A minimum of 3+ years of experience in data engineering.
· Experience with Microsoft Azure Data Factory, parquet files, Microsoft Synapse, or Databricks.
· Experience with Power BI data visualization, including connectivity to either Azure Synapse Analytics Services, SQL Data Warehouse, Azure Data Lake or Azure Data Databricks.
· Expertise with DAX queries and functions in Power BI, SQL, multi-dimensional data modeling, and data security, including row-level security and data sensitivity.
· Experience designing and mapping data models to shift raw data into meaningful insights while also creating performance models and conducting data aggregations.
· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly.
· Strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
· Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS DESIRED:
· Experience working with Federal agencies is a plus.
· Experience with Oracle and Oracle Golden Gate.
· Knowledge of Dataverse Synapse Link.
· Experience with connecting Oracle and Amazon Web Services connections to Power BI.
EDUCATION:
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field.
CLEARANCE:
· Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
