Role Summary
As part of a cross-functional team, the copywriter collaborates with marketing partners and creative colleagues (graphic designers, UX designers, and content strategists) to develop engaging, benefit-focused content for digital and non-digital channels. Key outputs include social post, email, web, video, and print collateral.
The copywriter has a fundamental understanding of the financial services industry, T. Rowe Price capabilities, and our intermediary audiences. The copywriter also understands how to engage the advisor audience and successfully position the firm's products, services, and brand in a crowded marketplace.
Responsibilities
Works with key stakeholders to ensure alignment on content requirements, objectives, assumptions, and success factors before copy development begins.
Participates in creative meetings for project kickoffs and brainstorming sessions with designers and business partners.
Generates ideas and develops clear, concise, compelling copy based on agreed-upon strategy.
Understands the various audience segments for an assigned campaign; tailors content to reflect the desired tone, sentiment, and intent of the messaging and elicit the desired reaction/response.
Applies writing and content style guidelines and incorporates T. Rowe Price brand tone, voice, and principles in copy.
Understands the unique content preferences of digital consumers (functional, engaging, scannable, concise, platform-friendly, searchable).
Incorporates SEO recommendations as appropriate for digital content.
Presents ideas and works in an iterative manner—responding with copy that addresses stakeholder feedback or research findings.
Reviews and edits content produced by marketing partners and creative colleagues.
Manages time and project load to meet deadlines as agreed upon with business partners.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience AND
2+ years of total relevant work experience.
Outstanding writing, editing, communication, and presentation skills.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness.
Ability to think creatively, conceptually, and strategically.
Self-motivated with a desire to work as part of a creative team in a highly collaborative corporate environment.
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of editorial or copywriting experience in the financial industry, including digital, development of messaging strategies, creative campaigns, and marketing communications.
Experience with using generative AI as part of creative process.
Experience with SEO and accessibility principles and application.
Experience with Figma and highly comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.

Base salary ranges:
$83,000.00 - $141,000.00 for the location of: California, New YorkPlacement within the range provided above is based on the individual's relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
