Aluminum Shop Technician (Finance)

Assist the Production Manager in all aspects of fabrication of aluminum frames, and windows in line with the departmental production schedule.
Essential Functions
• Responsible for layout, cutout, fitting and fabrication, inclusive of hanging, beading, and gasketing of Aluminum
• Operating industrial cutting machine, hand and power tools
• To ensure the manufacturing schedule is achieved as quickly and efficiently as possible in order to meet targets and deadlines
• Use of various power machinery i.e. radial arm saw, punch tools, chop saw, and others
• Provide technical support, to both the aluminum team, and the overall business
• Assisting with incoming deliveries for aluminum as needed
• To ensure all maintenance is performed daily and reporting all maintenance issues to Production Manager
• Ensure that housekeeping is adhered to and maintained
• Provide QC Inspections on deliveries and 'Work in Progress'
• Study drawings and plans for the required items
• Select, mark and cut the aluminum to size
• Screw aluminum pieces together
• Arrange the delivery of the finished or assembled product
• Follow company Safety Wide Program
• Any additional duties as required
Minimum Qualifications
• High School Diploma, or an equivalent combination of education/experience
• Current and valid US driver's license preferred
• At least 3 years' experience in an Aluminum Fabrication based role
Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities
• Excellent time management, multi-tasking and prioritization skills
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Ability to work with aluminum stick material. Also need an eye for detail, problem-solving skills, practical skills and the ability to make calculations.
• Know how to read plans and computer aided design (CAD) drawings
• Be able to prioritize and organize work efficiently and effectively
• Be driven to achieve objectives, regardless of problems
• Be energetic and enthusiastic, proactively offering suggestions
• Achieve team objectives
• Transmit information to other employees in a clear, concise and confident manner

• Aluminum workers must be hard-working, practical and accurate

• Aluminum workers must have strong hands and a strong back
• Good hand-eye co-ordination and stamina
• Able to lift 50+ lbs.
Physical Demands
Must be able to climb ladders, sit, bend, stoop, stand or walk for extended periods. Must be able to travel to job site locations. Ability to work in extreme weather and temperature conditions. Must be able to sit for long periods of time. Must have minimal ability to stand, sit, squat, bend, kneel, twist, crawl, reach lift, balance, carry, push, and pull as required for light duties of standard office clerical positions. Must be able to lift 20lb. Maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighting up to 10lb.
Work Environment
May be exposed to variable weather conditions. Other conditions may include proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery and using various tools and hardware. Worker may be subject to frequent heavy lifting. Exposure to various noise levels.
