Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineer, the Engineering Technician role supports engineering services activities such as hardware and software design and development (non-production) within the manufacturing operations at Flex .
Shift Schedule: 2nd Shift - 03:00p-11:15p Mon-Fri (10% shift differential)
What a typical day looks like:
Assist with the development and delivery of customer presentations and interface with customers.
Partner with engineers on customer projects
Organize documentation (specifications, procedures)
Performs complex engineering tests, checkouts, and development engineering tasks.
Analyzes engineering test results, and implements changes to resolve problems.
Collects data, analyzes results and implements procedures.
The candidate we're looking to add to our team will have experience with some of the following (not all are required):
2 - 4 years of related experience required
Ability to read customer specification drawings and interpret requirements related to ruggedization (Underfill, staking, Masking, conformal coat)
Experience with Conformal Coating process, Machines, materials, curing method, quality standards
Experience with Masking for conformal coat, hand dispense materials, Tapes, 3d printed masks, tooling
Experience with Component Staking process, manual application, curing, quality standards
Experience with Underfill process, Automatic machine dispense, quality standards
Experience with Thermal interface materials and dispensing with tabletop robot
Knowledge of UV cure versus heat cure for different applications
Inspection of product to pertinent IPC standards
Ability to rework product as required with correct chemicals (conformal coat, underfill, staking, masking)
