Federal Work Study: Career Center Student Assistant (Finance)
Duties:
• Represents the values and mission of the Career Center and serves as a role model to students, alumni, and other student assistants
• Assist students and alumni with appointment scheduling and address their questions both in person and over the phone
• Guide students and alumni to CC career resources
• Monitor student sign-in process
• Provide support to CC staff members with preparing for and delivering workshops, programs, and events
• Create flyers and/or social media posts to be used in marketing workshops and events
• Supports UHD and Career Center policies and guidelines
• Maintains confidentiality
• Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Campus Groups
• Creativity and design experience in tools such as Canva
• Understand what it means to provide excellent customer service
• Good communication skills, both written and oral
• Attention to detail with the ability to solve problems independently
• Willingness to learn new things
• Must be dependable and professional
Qualifications:
• Must provide a course schedule for the upcoming semester and a current Fall 2024-Spring 2025 Financial Aid Award Letter if selected for an interview
• Must be a current UHD student with Financial Aid Federal Work-Study for the Fall 2024 - Spring 2025 Academic Year
• Must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher
• Must be available to work up to 20 hours a week, Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
