Construction Commissioning Manager - Water/Wastewater (Finance)

Job Summary
Directs and coordinates program activities designed to provide subcontractors, management, and customers with setup and commissioning knowledge to ensure effective and economical engineering support. Analyzes contractual commitments, customer specifications, design changes, and other data to plan and develop commissioning & start-up program activities from conceptual stage through life-cycle of product. Develops and implements program activities, coordinates efforts of subcontractors, production departments, and field service personnel, and resolves problems in area of logistics to ensure meeting of contractual commitments. Compiles data on standardization and interchangeability of parts to expedite commissioning & start-up activities.
Determines logistic support sequences and time phasing, problems arising from location of operational area, and other factors.
Key Responsibilities
1. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
2. Conduct commissioning coordination meetings as needed with the owner, project management, contractor, and other commissioning team members as defined in the commissioning plan.
3. Ensures all construction engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organization's established policies and objectives.
4. Experience with commissioning & start-up engineering as well as related systems.
5. Find ways to reduce operating and maintenance costs, improve the comfort of a building's occupants and extend the life of the equipment.
6. Improve, refine, and augment Sundt's commissioning procedures and documentation to enhance the commissioning team processes.
7. Manage project specific pre-start, start-up, and test-adjust-balance, and commissioning fieldwork.
8. Monitor the latest industry trends and share knowledge with commissioning team members.
9. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect commissioning and start-up engineering support.
10. Verify the operation of the systems in the commissioning scope, including establishing acceptance criteria, obtaining completed reports from the installing vendor, and direct performing testing and verification.
Minimum Job Requirements
1. BA/BS Engineering degree or equivalent work experience required.
2. FE designation through the NCEES or PE license preferred.
3. Must have demonstrated proficiency for all the responsibilities of a Commissioning Engineer; 5 years of experience in the commissioning field including performance contracting requirements preferred.
4. Proficiency in SCA, PECI and/or ASHRAE commissioning procedures preferred.
5. Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs.
