Prep Cook (Food Services)

Job Title: Prep Cook

Facility Name: Arden Park Post Acute

Location: Sacramento, CA

Arden Park Post Acute is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Prep Cook to join our team. As a Prep Cook, you will be responsible for assisting the culinary team in the preparation of meals for our residents in a skilled nursing setting.

Responsibilities:

- Assist with preparing and cooking meals according to recipes and dietary requirements

- Ensure food is prepared and served in a safe and sanitary manner

- Maintain a clean and organized work area

- Assist with inventory management

- Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines

- Ability to read and follow recipes.

- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.

- Ability to solve practical problems

Qualifications:

- Previous experience as a Prep Cook in a healthcare or institutional setting preferred

- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively

- Strong communication and teamwork skills

- Ability to Read and Speak English language

- High school diploma or equivalent

Physical Demands:

The essential functions of this position require the following physical abilities:

- Standing and /or walking very frequently

- Sitting occasionally, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling occasionally.

- Reaching with hands and arms frequently, pushing/pulling very frequently.

- Talking and /or hearing very frequently.

- Tasting and /or smelling very frequently.

- Lifting up to 50 pounds frequently. Close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception in vision: ability to adjust focus.
