Engineering Manager, iOS (Finance)

ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:

The Knot Worldwide is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join the TKWW Vendor Experience team. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for hiring, leading and setting the technical direction for a team of iOS engineers, including the maintenance and creation of technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and proofs of concepts. The Engineering Manager must be able to track and lead multiple projects in parallel, while also working with various stakeholders and our support teams to diagnose and triage issues. As such, the Engineering Manager should enjoy working in a fast paced environment, be well organized, and have great time management and prioritization skills.

The Engineering Manager will work cross-functionally alongside Product and Design to ideate and build best in class applications that support the company's goals. Our product and engineering teams work closely together at every phase of product development from research and inception to release and maintenance. The Engineering Manager should have experience with project management tools and be comfortable writing detailed technical stories and actively managing the backlog and current sprint.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage, develop, and mentor a local team of iOS engineers. Provide continuous feedback to the team members to foster their growth and development.
• Foster a culture of quality, ownership, and continuous improvement while driving impactful delivery with urgency
• Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering stakeholders at all stages of the product development and launch
• Have and drive an agile development mindset for your team.
• Leverage skills and experience to implement product features that are well architected, tested, and understandable.
• Promote best practices surrounding code architecture and standards, continuous integration, etc.
• Actively participate in the ideation and execution of product roadmap
• Lead and facilitate decision making during technical meetings

SUCCESSFUL ENGINEERING MANAGER CANDIDATES HAVE:

• 6+ years of iOS engineering experience (Bonus points for 2+ years of experience with SwiftUI)
• Experience mentoring and growing team members as they progress in their careers
• Experience working with a remote-first group across multiple time zones
• 2+ years as a lead engineer or manager of an engineering team
• Team player, able to multitask and context switch, with a can-do attitude
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
• Experience building and maintaining enterprise applications
• Mastery of design patterns and anti-patterns
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
