Radiology - MRI Supervisor (Healthcare)
The Radiology Supervisor oversees the operational, administrative and personnel activities at Noran Neurology's three imaging locations. Responsible for determining and maintaining MRI standards and MRI safety.
Oversees staff in radiology department. Evaluates staffing needs, recruitment, hiring, training, termination, and discipline of staff. Conducts performance reviews and submits salary increases for all staff.
Reviews accuracy and quality of images with lead technologists to ensure high quality exams which meet neurologist and radiologist needs.
Assumes responsibility for ongoing ACR accreditation and updates to ACR requirements.
Responsible for medical equipment maintenance and service. Schedules all preventative maintenance, evaluates new software updates, reviews service agreement contracts, and evaluates new equipment as necessary.
Creates and maintains staff work schedules to maintain day-to-day operations and efficient use of existing staff. Reviews MRI schedule and adjusts as necessary to meet clinic operational needs.
Serves as clinic liaison with consulting radiologist(s) regarding the development and implementation of imaging protocols in adherence to ACR regulatory, OSHA and FDA requirements. Communicates with clinical teams and providers regarding changes in protocols.
Acts as a liaison for the Radiologist Medical Director and Chief Operating Officer.
Formulate and revise departmental policies and procedures as needed for operations and ACR guidelines.
Functions as PACS, RIS and EMR expert/superuser, provides guidance and expertise in system functionality.
Primary contact for Noran Neurology with outside vendors and IT regarding troubleshooting and technical issues.
Attends educational conferences, webinars, and training sessions as necessary to keep knowledge updated and understood.
Cultivates effective partnerships with providers, management team and other staff.
Functions as an MRI Technologist to maintain technical expertise and oversight of workflow.
Plans and directs the ordering, receipt, storage and maintenance of departmental supplies.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum requirements in terms of educational background work experience, licenses/certifications or other knowledge, skills and abilities.
BA/BS degree plus four years of experience or combination of related education and work experience to total five years. Minimum two years of MRI technologist experience.
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology school.
Must be current and active registered member with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
Ability to problem solve and communicate in a positive and effective manner.
Supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
BLS certification.
