Work with supply base and internal departments to ensure proper inventory levels are achieved to support 100% OTIF.
Coordinate return of defective material with suppliers. Depending on the supplier base and commodities assigned, each agent can be responsible for purchases of $10 to 20 million dollars.
Place purchase orders.
Proactively identify supply risks using MRP output, shortage report, past due & remaining, etc.
Coordinate implementation of pull, VMI and PFEP procurement program with suppliers. Educate suppliers on these programs.
Review with accounts payable and materials for resolution on receiving and invoice discrepancy reconciliation.
Maintain accurate supplier data such as lead times, order intervals and MOQ's.
Communicate with management, team members, and production staff across a variety of media.
Ability to perform job functions in a safe manner and complete all safety training required.
Must wear all Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) required for the job being performed.
Other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS
Associate degree in Materials/Purchasing/Inventory Management or experience in manufacturing purchasing environment.
Strong problem-solving skills utilizing data to support problem resolution.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
ERP system (Baan) Purchasing, MRP planning & Inventory; EPMX quote system
This position will be located in a normal office environment with exposure to the manufacturing shop floor and product test environments (heat, cold, wet, dry, etc.) as required.
