Quality Technician (Biotech)
Job Summary
The Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring adherence to quality standards by inspecting and approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products. This role involves documenting quality results and reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, while also collaborating closely with the Operations Manager. The Quality Technician plays a key role in maintaining product quality and supporting overall organizational efficiency.
Job Responsibilities
Material Inspection: Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications through visual and measurement tests; reject and return materials that do not meet standards
In-Process Production: Approve in-process production by verifying specifications; perform visual and measurement tests; communicate necessary adjustments to production staff
Finished Product Inspection: Approve finished products by confirming specifications through tests; manage re-work processes; verify the completion and quality of re-worked products
Documentation: Document inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarize re-work and waste; input data into the quality database
Equipment Maintenance: Ensure measurement equipment operates correctly by using it properly and reporting repair needs as necessary
Blueprint Reading: Read blueprints and interpret specifications to guide inspection processes
Safety and Compliance: Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to established standards and procedures
Professional Development: Update job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and learning new skills relevant to the inspection process
Miscellaneous: Accomplish quality and organizational goals by completing additional tasks as required
