POSITION PURPOSE

The Financial Analyst is financially inquisitive, experienced with Excel, technology enthusiast, is a detail and data fanatic, understands how to develop, maintain, and improve three statement financial models, and can communicate and work effectively with stakeholders across all functional operating departments, and with investors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Employee shall perform all duties and responsibilities with Sunland's Core Values at the forefront.
  • Must be an advocate of safety and follow safety policies and procedures.
  • Master Budget, Financial Model and Reporting Analyses:
    • Maintain up-to-date budget, actual and forecasted values for the company's P&L, Cash Flow Statement and Balance Sheet
    • Administer a consistent and sound forecasting methodology to assist in developing and tracking company budgets and annual plans against actual financial results
    • Modify and improve financial model infrastructure as necessary
    • Present financial data and relevant reports to management and operations team on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis or upon request
    • Lead and drive division and corporate annual budget and forecast preparation efforts
    • Analyze sales, customer, cost and vendor performance trends and analysis
    • Assemble KPI and reporting packages for the board of directors
    • Issue quarterly compliance certificates and supporting financial reports/data to lenders
  • Quarterly Board of Director Meeting Preparation
    • Prepare the financial performance data, reports, and quantitative analytics for each board meeting
    • Perfect the data and analytics into an easy to follow, consumable format
    • Provide commentary on variance analyses
  • Reporting & Analysis
    • Report on and analyze orders, net revenue by month, quarter, annually, sales pipeline, production, and G&A activities
    • Report and analyze monthly sales production by division, customer, job type, service, etc.
    • Other pertinent business data analysis related to KPIs
    • Identify ways to improve the use of applications and data throughout the company
  • Corporate Development
    • Assist in partnership and acquisition research/analysis
    • Implementation of M&A activity in Planful
    • Macro and micro economic trend research & analysis

SAFETY

  • This is not considered a safety-sensitive position but is subject to the company's drug and alcohol policy, as well as all OHSA regulations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This position operates in a professional office environment that routinely uses standard office equipment requiring the ability to communicate in person and over the telephone with other employees, the ability to interpret printed materials and a computer screen, the stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, the ability to lift and carry supplies and files weighing up to 10 pounds and to move about the inside of the office to access supplies, office machinery, etc.
  • May be required to work on a project site and if so, would be exposed to all weather, including extreme hot and cold temperatures.
  • Employee might be exposed to various chemicals, vapors, pollutants, virus or other air-borne pathogens, gases, uneven surfaces, loud noises, moving vehicles or machines and dust/debris.

POSITION TYPE/ EXPECTED HOURS

  • This is a full-time position. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

TRAVEL

  • Minimal travel required during AOP with advanced notice.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Work Experience

  • Expert Excel skills including pivot tables and charts, lookups / Index Match, and other advanced formulas and functions
  • Advanced PowerPoint skills including the ability to communicate complex data and information in a graphical, easy to digest, format
  • Comfortable with PBI and able to create dashboards from scratch
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in either corporate finance, investment banking/private equity, or public accounting, including experience with budget, forecast, and financial reporting.
  • Strong ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders
  • High attention to detail
  • Innovative in constructing more efficient ways to collect, report and analyze data
  • A strong ability to grasp the dynamic relationship of the business, markets, and financials
  • Must be a critical thinker who proactively anticipates problems and is solution oriented in approach
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration with an Accounting or Finance emphasis preferred but not required

Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations

  • A valid driver's license, and a clean motor-vehicle record, preferred.
  • Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and background check is required.
