Director, Category Management- North America (Marketing)
Works closely with VP, Global Procurement to ensure a smooth transition and stabilization of One ACR Global Procurement operating model restructure project
Supports development and refinement of Global Procurement strategy across operations and category management to drive leverage of spend, people, processes, and technologies across acquired companies to 1ACR model
Conceptualize and in phases roll out fit for purpose 1ACR processes such as Global Category Management, Supplier Performance management, Supplier resiliency, Savings reporting and others
Support oversight of third-party Procurement services provider and ensure delivery of all executive dashboards in a timely manner
On an ongoing basis build and roll out company training programs such as Category Management, Negotiations, Cost modeling and others
Develop, execute and maintain sourcing activities that deliver the category strategy objectives: Identify spend, develop sourcing strategy, and lead all sourcing, supplier negotiations, contract negotiations, and supplier selection to optimize the value proposition and drive savings associated with the various categories
Prepare and maintain ongoing KPI reports and stakeholder engagement for each assigned category; collect and manage data from external (suppliers) resources as well as other industry benchmarks and internal purchasing resources. Quarterly supplier meetings to track service levels, compliance, and opportunities for improvements/incremental cost savings. Prepare and publish progress and periodic reports to management.
Direct all sourcing big activities, price negotiations and contract management for the assigned categories
Research the market and supply base to develop sourcing strategy and benchmark with functional stakeholders
Achieve cost savings goals. Establish controls and procedures to minimize costs while being flexible to meet the needs of the internal and external customers
Ensure that all related general purchases are made in compliance with category strategies; while leading vendor management, and value added/value engineered activities, as applicable
Lead continuous improvement projects to ensure process agility and sustainability. This individual must be a proactive leader to identify opportunities, make recommendations, and rapid decisions to achieve the success
Manages team and works with Sourcing Director to manage relationship/s with key suppliers, specifically paper mills, and distributors to ensure a reliable supply of materials and favorable terms
Collaborates with manufacturing, and logistics operations, to forecast demand, assess inventory and align on strategies
Drive continuous improvements in procurement processes and tools, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and ethical standards
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred
Minimum 10 to 15 years of experience in Procurement field, with minimum 4 years focus in Paper products category Experience in Indirect spend and Logistics category desired
Strong understanding of global paper market, key suppliers, and industry trends
Experience and track record in driving next level of value through Procurement integration
High energy, enthusiastic and results driven with strong business acumen
Project management capabilities, creative, conceptual thinker, exceptional problem solving/analytical skills
Effective communication skills with ability to influence and collaborate with supplier/stakeholder leadership teams
Experience working in global roles with knowledge of different markets and cultures, particularly Asia
Travel required 25-30%
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Advanced degree, MBA. Some background in Supply Chain and/or Logistics is a plus.
Experience in procurement of specialty papers
Experience in driving sustainability and innovation
Skills leading change initiatives within Procurement
